You can download the client here. It's recommended using the Full Client to avoid any issues, but if you already have the kRO files, then you can use the Lite Installer. Once it's installed, you can adjust some settings from Setup.exe. Once done, run Lillithe RO.exe to let it get the latest patches, and then you can play!

Below are solutions to common RO problems. If they don't fix your issue, you can visit our forum. If you create a topic, please describe the issue clearly and give as much information as possible. Screenshots will help greatly in diagnosing the issue.


Common Issues

  • Make sure to be using the Full Client found on our website.
  • Make sure your Antivirus software or Firewall is not blocking LillitheRO from starting or connecting. To be sure, it's a good idea to add exclusions/exceptions to your RO folder path and client files. See below for instructions.
  • If all else fails, delete "Lillithe.dat" from your RO folder, and try running your patcher again. It will patch from the beginning.

Patcher or Game Client is not starting up properly

For Windows 10 users, sometimes an error will occur where the game will not open. The patcher itself will run, but once the 'Start' button is clicked, the patcher closes and no game opens. Here's what you can try.

Run as an Administrator

  • Make sure you're running the game as an Administrator.
    • To do this, right click "Launcher.exe" from your RO folder, select Properties. Click on the "Compatibility" tab, and check on "Run this program as an administrator". Do the same for "Lillithe RO.exe". Alternatively, try using an Administrator user account instead.

Run in Compatibility Mode

Please Note: This fix will not work on Windows XP.

  • Close your LillitheRo.exe if it is still open.
  • Right-click LillitheRo.exe and go to Properties.
  • Select the Compatibility tab (second tab).
  • Check Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
  • Check Run this program as administrator.


  • Click Apply, then OK.
  • Open LillitheRo.exe and enjoy playing.
  • If you're getting a binkw32.dll error message when trying to open the client, then that means you're missing some essential RO files. In this case, try reinstalling the full client.

I'm getting palette/sprite errors ingame

Be sure to be playing using the full client. However, in some rare cases, it could be caused by other issues. Be sure to report those to a GM or make a topic in our forum.

Alternatively, you may download the kRO files from Ratemyserver here. Make sure to fully patch your kRO files using the rsu-kro-rag-lite.exe and rsu-kro-renewal-lite.exe files. Once they're fully patched, download the Lite Installer and install the files to the folder where the kRO files are at. Replace any files if you're asked.

My screenshots look weird and gray when I take them

This usually occurs from using a certain screen resolution on PCs using Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8. Try changing your RO screen resolution in Setup.exe. Resolution 1360x768 has been confirmed to work. Alternatively, you can download Roext and use a custom screen resolution in their dinput.ini file and that should also fix it.

My Anti-virus detects my LillitheRO files as a threat or prevents it from running

You'll need to add an exclusion to the LillitheRO folder and files with your Anti-virus software to prevent issues. Once the exclusions/exceptions are added, you may need to reinstall LillitheRO again to recover any missing files.

The following are files that your antivirus software may detect as a threat:

  • Launcher.exe
  • LillitheRO.exe
  • Setup.exe

Adding Exclusions with Avast

  • Open the Avast interface.
  • Click on "Settings".
  • Click on "Active Protection".
  • Click on the Cogwheel icon on the right of File System Shield.
  • Click on "Exclusions".
  • Copy the path to your LillitheRO folder in one of the rows, and make sure the 3 check boxes are checked on.
  • To get the path to your RO folder, you can right click any files in your RO folder, select "Properties" and copy the whole text in "Location". For Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 users and later, you can click on the address bar to the right of the Back/Forward button, and copy the selected path.
  • When you're done, click on "Add", and then "OK".
  • You may close all the Avast interface windows.

Adding Exclusions with Avira

  • Open the Avira interface.
  • Click on "Extras", and then "Configuration".
  • On the left, select "General", then choose "Advanced Protection", "Application filter", and finally, "Allowed".
  • Click on the "..." button to browse for files to add to the list. Add the following files to the list:
    • Launcher.exe
    • Lillithe RO.exe
    • Setup.exe
  • Make sure to click on the "Add" button after browsing for each file.
  • Click on the "OK" button and close the Avira interface.

Adding Exclusions with AVG

  • Open the AVG interface.
  • Select "Options", and then "Advanced settings".
  • On the left, select "Exceptions".
  • Click on "Add exceptions" on the right.
  • In Exception Type, select "Folder" from the dropdown list.
  • Browse and get the location of your LillitheRO folder.
  • To get the path to your RO folder, you can right click any files in your RO folder, select "Properties" and copy the whole text in "Location". For Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 users and later, you can click on the address bar to the right of the Back/Forward button, and copy the selected path.
  • You can also select to apply these settings to other AVG components.
  • Click on "OK" and close your AVG interface.


Adding Exclusions to DEP (Data Execution Prevention)

In some cases, you may need to add your LillitheRO files to the DEP exclusion list. Here's how (these steps may vary from different Windows operating systems):

  • Open the Start Menu and open Control Panel. For Windows 8 users, move your mouse cursor to the bottom right or top right corner of the screen to make the side bar appear, and click on "Settings", and then "Control Panel". Alternatively, you can search for "Control Panel" from the Start area.
  • In Control Panel, click on "System"
  • Click on "Advanced System Settings" on the left.
  • Under Performance, click on the "Settings" button.
  • Click on the "Data Execution Prevention" tab and choose "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select".
  • Press the "Add" button and add the following files/paths to the list:
    • Launcher.exe
    • Lillithe RO.exe
    • Setup.exe
